Evolucionar

We talked about DeVotchKa the other day. It is (very) worth listening. :)

Something changed.

Today, I would like to start by quoting some lines of (500) days of summer:

Most days of the year are unremarkable. They begin, and they end, with no lasting memories made in between. Most days have no impact on the course of a life. May 23rd was a Wednesday.

It took a long time but Tom had finally learned. There are no miracles. There's no such thing as fate. Nothing is meant to be. He knew. He was sure of it now.

And end by posting this video:

Silence.

I want to post about Silence.

J'écouterai ton silence, et me perdrai dans tes yeux fermés, dans tes mots compliqués et tes idées... surtout dans tes idées.
-Mrs. K
What if we made up the words for silence? (La-di-la-da.)
Would it be sights?
Would it be sighs?
Would you take my hand?

I would like some silence in the dark,
to feel your breath without a sound,
to be your guide no matter what,
to sleep so tight, between your thighs.

We might not be able to bring back those days
I might not find you anywhere
but we'll always have that land of silence.

(*the words above, particularly the ones on italics are inspired mainly by the following song, and some other songs by the same artist, I'm a huge fan.)

Seems as though the years have come
when you and I like brick and stone
Made up the words for silence.

And conversations kept roaming around
Out quest for trasures remained unfound
in the land of silence.

On and on the break of dawn is our new song.
Here, take my hand
before it hits the ground.
Oh, darling, you're my sound!

Long ago they said to me:
"You know there's a cost for living free",
but I don't have a wallet
'cause life depends on water.

On and on the break of dawn is our new song.
Here, take my hand
before it hits the ground.
Oh, darling, you're my sound!

We cannot bring back the days of laughter,
the goal we're after,
'cause I know that I
will live a life that's free of strife from pain and sorrow,
today and tomorrow
'cause love is my device.

Doesn't matter if I leave this Earth
and no one remembers my date of birth
I'll always be beside her,
in the land of silence.

We cannot bring back the days of laughter,
the goal we're after,
'cause I know that I
will live a life that's free of strife from pain and sorrow,
today and tomorrow
'cause love is my device.

Seems as though the years have come
when you and I like brick and stone
Made up the words for silence.

This is some one of the most intresting music proposals I've heard in a while.
Beliefs by Urrusti

Gave up everything I had
For a dream I couldn't keep,
I've been living with a lie
So hard that tears can't cry
Like a grudge you keep inside,
Till you think that you don't care at all.

So pathetic I can't weep!
So blind and dumb to see
Today I'm broken, I'm broken, I'm broken!
Left to die on my beliefs.

we got another thing comin' undone

This very accurately describes how I feel towards the relationship status.

A word to start the year with a different perspective

From the music collection: Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar

I have some sort of music collection (if you want to call it that way) and basically, when I like a song very much, I try to gather different versions of it.

Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar
is a canção by Vinícius de Moraes and Tom Jobim.

Eu sei que vou te amar
Por toda a minha vida
Eu vou te amar
A cada despedida
Eu vou te amar
Desesperadamente
Eu sei que vou te amar

E cada verso meu será
Prá te dizer
Que eu sei que vou te amar
Por toda a minha vida

Eu sei que vou chorar
A cada ausência tua eu vou chorar
Mas cada volta tua há de apagar
O que essa tua ausência me causou

Eu sei que vou sofrer
A eterna desventura de viver
À espera de viver ao lado teu
Por toda a minha vida

Here are three of my favorite versions:
Adriana Calcanhoto

Caetano Veloso (classic, classic)

Bebo y Cigala, different, yet amazing

I accept that (being the indie poser I probably am) I am too judgamental towards commercial music, but then, I find things like this:

Does taking bad [i know 'bad' makes no difference, but i'm appealing to pity] pictures from videos count as photograph?
